Lucy Clare Spooner, the artist
Clare grew up with a pencil in her hand, a constant companion while living and traveling abroad as a child. This continued throughout her college career at the University of Virginia, where her talent was further nourished under the tutelage of Pam Black. Clare then moved to New York City to work as an interior designer, where she drew on the subway and in any spare moments she could find. These fleeting moments left her wanting more, though, and when the opportunity arose to study art in Aix-en-Provence, France at the Marchutz School of Fine Art for a semester, Clare dove in full-heartedly. She currently lives and creates in New York City, with a piece of her heart left behind at the Marchutz School.
